A global study, published in Health Data Science, analysed objective sleep data from 88,461 adults and found associations between sleep traits and 172 diseases. The research noted that sleep regularity, such as bedtime consistency and circadian rhythm stability, is a critical factor in disease risk. Objective data showed a link between "long sleep" (≥9 hours) and only one disease.
