The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council will be imposing 18% GST on delivery fees charged by food delivery and quick commerce companies from September 22. This would have a major impact on platforms such as Zomato and Swiggy. The new tax could increase costs by ₹2/order on Zomato, and even higher for Swiggy, estimated Morgan Stanley analysts.
