Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis announced that the first passenger flight from the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is expected to take off in September. He added that 94% of the work at the airport has been completed. Once fully operational, the NMIA will reportedly handle nine crore passengers annually, more than double the capacity of the existing Mumbai airport.
