Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the first section of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train, running between Surat and Bilimora, is expected to be completed by December 2027. It will reach Thane by 2028, and finally reach Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex in 2029. Covering a 508-kilometre route, the train will cut travel time to just two hours and seven minutes.
