Two former Army soldiers, Dibil and Rajesh, have been arrested for killing a woman, Ranjini, and her 17-day-old twins in Kerala's Kollam in 2006. Dibil had begun distancing himself after the twins' birth, following which the women's commission ordered a paternity test. He enlisted Rajesh's help in killing them before deserting the Army and starting new families in Puducherry.
