With July 27 deadline approaching, Uttarakhand government plans to launch door-to-door drive to register marriages, divorces, and live-in relationships under the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), officials said. Since the rollout on January 27, over 2 lakh marriages and 90 live-in relationships have been registered. The law mandates registration of all such ties and divorces from March 26, 2010, onwards.
