Two new species of damselflies have been found in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra and Kerala. According to a study published in international journal Zootaxa, the species- Konkan Shadowdamsel, discovered in Maharashtra and Crimson Shadowdamsel, discovered in Kerala - belong to the group commonly called 'Shadowdamsels' because of their affinity for well-shaded forest habitats.
