The Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has sent a proposal to the state government to add two rail lines on the existing Asangaon-Kasara and Badlapur-Karjat routes. The new project in the metropolitan region is expected to cost around ₹15,000 crore. Also, the Central Railway is planning to install 1,650 CCTV cameras along railway lines for better surveillance.
