After a 7-year gap, Himalayan Zoological Park in Sikkim's Bulbuley welcomed the birth of two red panda cubs. Officials called it "especially heartening" after years of setbacks, including two Canine Distemper outbreaks that nearly wiped out the captive population. The cubs, part of the Conservation Breeding Programme, will remain away from public view until they are old enough for viewing.
