The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday launched "CM's Thayumanavar Scheme" to deliver ration at the doorsteps of over 21 lakh senior citizens aged over 70 and differently-abled persons. The scheme will be implemented through 34,809 fair price shops, with ration items delivered every second Saturday and Sunday. "This is a big service by the Cooperative department," said CM MK Stalin.
