Meghalaya recorded 236 Japanese Encephalitis cases in the last two years, Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh told the Assembly. She stressed vaccination as key prevention, noting higher coverage in Garo Hills (80–95%) led to fewer cases. Government is strengthening labs, manpower, surveillance and awareness to combat the mosquito-borne disease.
