A team of researchers, who published their work in Physical Review Letters, has described how Bayes' rule operates in the quantum world, over 260 years after it was first proposed. "It's a breakthrough in mathematical physics," a researcher said. The version was derived by "maximising the fidelity between two objects...in analogy with a classical joint probability distribution", they stated.
