Nearly 4,000 women from Maharashtra have relinquished the Ladki Bahin Yojana scheme as a verification campaign to stop ineligible women from availing the benefits continues, Maharashtra Women and child welfare minister Aditi Tatkare said. The money returned by these women will be deposited back into the government treasury and will be used for public welfare, she added.
