The Madurai District and Sessions Court sentenced Inspector Alex Raj and three constables to 11 years imprisonment for the 2019 custodial death of 17-year-old Muthu Karthik. The court also directed a fresh chargesheet against three other officers for evidence tampering, suspending one who remains in service.
