Forty girls aged between nine and 14 were found confined inside a toilet of an unregistered madrassa during an inspection in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich, officials said on Thursday. This comes after the district administration received repeated complaints about the functioning of the illegal madrassa. According to police, the girls appeared frightened and were unable to speak clearly.
