Forty male family members of a girl belonging to a Scheduled Tribe(ST) community were reportedly forced to shave their heads as part of a purification ritual after the girl married a Scheduled Caste(SC) man from a neighbouring village in the Kashipur block of Odisha's Rayagada district. The family was allegedly warned of social ostracism if they didn't follow community norms.
