Over 5.1 crore Indians have been diagnosed with hypertension and 3.45 crore with diabetes under a national screening drive, said the Union Health Ministry. Over 38 crore adults were screened under the NP-NCD programme, which also covered oral, breast, and cervical cancers. The government has also boosted cancer care with 39 specialised centres nationwide.
