In Karnataka, five migrant labourers from West Bengal, Assam, Tripura died after a speeding tempo overturned on the national highway in Udupi's Kapu taluk. The vehicle jumped the divider and crashed onto service road, flinging workers onto the road. Twelve labourers were on board and several remain critically injured. Police say overspeeding caused the accident and have launched an investigation.
