A total of 56 retired judges have expressed "strong disagreement" with the statement of 18 other former judges who criticised Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks on Opposition's Vice Presidential candidate B Sudershan Reddy. The judges, including former CJI Ranjan Gogoi, stated that the statement of 18 ex-judges cloaked "political partisanship under language of judicial independence".
