Ladakh DGP SD Singh on Saturday said that 5,000 to 6,000 people pelted stones at buildings, police, and paramilitary forces on September 24 during the statehood protests in Leh. He said, "CRPF jawans were mercilessly beaten, one is still critical. My vehicle was also attacked, and I sustained minor injuries." Notably, activist Sonam Wangchuk was arrested after the violent protests.
