A six-member SIT has been formed to investigate the alleged suicide of senior IPS officer Y Puran Kumar. Headed by IGP Chandigarh Pushpendra Kumar, the SIT includes SSP, Chandigarh Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS KM Priyanka, DSP Charanjit Singh Virk, CPS Gurjit Kaur and Inspector Jaiveer Singh Rana. IPS Puran Kumar had named various senior police officers in his suicide note.
