A 6-year-old boy lost vision in his left eye after a firecracker exploded in his hand during Diwali in Maharashtra's Beed city, the doctor treating him said. He was trying to light the firecracker for the second time when it exploded. It had failed to ignite the first time. The doctor requested parents to stay vigilant when children burst firecrackers.
