A 19-year-old electrician inhaled five screws and swallowed two after an electric shock caused him to fall unconscious at work. DPU Super Specialty Hospital, Pune, removed the screws using flexible bronchoscopy. Led by Dr M S Barthwal, the three-hour procedure avoided major surgery. Two abdominal screws were expelled naturally. The hospital called it a complex but successful intervention.
