The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has clarified that a member can withdraw 75% of their provident fund immediately in case of unemployment. The remaining 25% can also be withdrawn after one year, it stated. The clarification comes after EPFO drew criticism for extending the premature final settlement period post-job loss to 12 months.
