Eight electricity department workers were booked on Tuesday in UP's Bhadoi for allegedly overcharging bills, molesting a woman and vandalising her house on the pretext of power cut. Sajid Ali, who filed the case, alleged officials took ₹7,500 in 2019 for connection but never installed a meter. Later, officials accused Ali of electricity theft and billed him ₹1,32,470, including fine.
