Eight women died and 17 others were injured after a tempo carrying devotees to the Kundeshwar Temple in Pune's Khed taluka fell into a 25-30 ft pit near Chakan. The victims were from Pait village and were visiting the temple on the holy Shravan Monday. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar announced ₹4 lakh aid for each deceased's family.
