An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed while collecting firewood in a tea garden in Assam’s Dibrugarh district. The accused smothered her and hid the body in a drain. After she didn’t return home, her family and neighbours searched and alerted police. The body was recovered at around 8:40 pm. Locals caught the accused and handed him over to the police.
