Union Minister of Jal Shakti CR Paatil announced that 80% of India's villages have achieved the 'ODF Plus Model' status. ODF Plus Model status is conferred upon villages that sustain their open-defecation-free (ODF) status while ensuring effective management of solid and liquid waste. This milestone is a part of Phase II of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) launched in 2020.
