In 2015, three friends Sameer Nair, Anshuman Lath, and Prasad Kulkarni, launched 'Gram Oorja' to electrify remote villages in Jharkhand using solar microgrids. Their initiative has powered 800 households by providing 24x7 electricity to them. The project has boosted economic activities and also empowered women to lead decisions on energy management and development in their communities.
