Scientists discovered the world's oldest mosquito larva, trapped in 99-million-year-old amber from Myanmar. The fossil, identified as a new species called Cretosabethes primaevus, offered insight into mosquito evolution during the dinosaur age. Lead researcher André Amaral said the larva closely resembles modern species, showing mosquito larvae changed little in nearly 100 million years.
