Over 131 years ago, freedom fighter Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari transformed devotion into defiance by installing India's first public Ganesh idol in Pune. Inspired by grand celebrations in Gwalior, Rangari's act, lauded by Lokmanya Tilak, turned Ganeshotsav into a symbol of unity against British colonial rule - a festival where faith met patriotism, still celebrated with pride today.
