Four decades after breaking off from Antarctica, iceberg A23a, one of the largest ever recorded, is "breaking up fairly dramatically", said oceanographer Andrew Meijers. The iceberg, which weighed around trillion tons in early 2025, is now reportedly half of its original size. The largest piece to break away in the last few days measured 80 sq km, reported Sky News.
