The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made the Aadhaar biometric updates free for children aged 7-15. The move that came into effect on October 1 will be applicable for a year and will benefit nearly 6 crore children. A child is mandated to update Aadhaar biometrics twice, once upon the age of five and then on turning 15.
