During a hearing over the ongoing SIR (Special Intensive Revision) exercise in Bihar, the Supreme Court has reiterated that Aadhaar cannot be treated as the sole proof of citizenship. The court declined to direct the Election Commission (EC) to accept Aadhaar card as the sole proof of citizenship to enable people to enroll in Bihar voter list prepared after SIR.
