The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) asked schools across the country to update the Aadhaar biometric data (fingerprints, iris, photograph) of children aged between five and fifteen. The UIDAI CEO has also written to the chief secretaries of states and union territories to support in the process. The data of nearly 17 crore children is pending for updation.
