The CBI arrested absconding sub-inspector Uttam Singh, accused in the custodial death of 25-year-old Deva Pardi in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district. The Supreme Court, after criticising delays, had directed his arrest by October 8. Singh had applied to surrender before the CBI special court, but was arrested when he arrived at court and was taken to their office, officials said.
