The Supreme Court reiterated that a court can extend the benefit of acquittal to a non-appealing accused if it disbelieves the very occurrence of the crime itself. The Court allowed an appeal of an accused woman against the High Court’s judgment which convicted all three accused persons including her son, in a murder case.
