Weeks after a group of men allegedly assaulted him with chains and cables and smeared cow dung on his face, activist Rama Kankonkar alleged he suspects Goa CM Pramod Sawant and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte’s involvement. Sawant dismissed the claim as an attempt to "sensationalise and politicise the issue". He added that the government is "very serious" about the case.
