Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and actress Pavithra Gowda were arrested hours after Supreme Court cancelled bail granted to them by Karnataka High Court, for murdering Darshan's fan Renukaswamy. Pulling up High Court for granting bail to the main accused, the top court called it "perverse exercise of discretionary powers". It also warned state officials against giving them special treatment in jail.
