Adani Power Ltd, India's largest private thermal power firm, secured a 25-year LoA from BSPGCL to supply electricity from a 2,400 MW (800 MW x 3) ultra-supercritical plant at Pirpainti, Bihar. Power demand is projected to rise from 250 GW to 400 GW by 2031-32 and 700+ GW by 2047, with ~100 GW thermal capacity addition planned by 2035.
