UK PM Keir Starmer extended his support for India's bid for a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) during 79th session of UN General Assembly. Starmer's announcement followed a similar one by French President Emmanuel Macron, who said it was time to make UN "more efficient". Notably, the US has also backed India's bid for the seat.
