China and India have "reduced differences" and built "some consensus" on disengaging troops in Ladakh, according to China's Defence Ministry. "The two sides agreed to reach a resolution at an early date acceptable to both sides," spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang said. He added they would "strengthen dialogue to accommodate each other's legitimate concerns" to end the standoff.
