US researchers from Oregon Health & Science University have shown that AI can detect early laryngeal (voice box) cancer by analyzing voice recordings. Using 12,523 samples, the AI identified vocal fold lesions, potential cancer indicators, based on pitch and noise variations, especially in men. The study was published in Frontiers in Digital Health.
