The government has informed Supreme Court that it is planning to set up AI-based facial recognition systems at major railway stations, including Mumbai CST and New Delhi, to track sex offenders. The number of sexual offenders recorded in National Database on Sexual Offenders (NDSO) has crossed 20-lakh mark, the Centre further told the apex court.
