The Director of School Education, Kashmir, announced on Saturday a 15-day summer break for all "government and recognised private schools" across the valley from June 23 to July 7 due to heatwave conditions. Notably, Srinagar witnessed the hottest June day in two decades on Friday as the maximum temperature rose to 35.5 degrees celsius, 6.3 degrees above the normal.
