The donations by pilgrims at the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir have surged 100-fold since resumption of annual pilgrimage post-COVID-19 pandemic, according to RTI-revealed data. Cash offerings rose from ₹9.23 lakh in 2020-21 to ₹9.75 crore in 2025-26, it added. Additionally, pilgrims' footfall also increased from over 3 lakh devotees in 2022 to around 4.1 lakh this year.
