Amarnath Yatra has been suspended from August 3, a week before it was to end, due to "critical repair and maintenance works" after heavy rains on both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes. The yatra, which began on July 3, was scheduled to conclude on August 9 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. More than 4,10,000 pilgrims visited Amarnath in 2025.
