The Government of India has designated Assam Medical College & Hospital, Dibrugarh, as a Centre of Excellence for Rare Diseases under the NPRD 2021. AMCH is the first in Assam and the Northeast to get this recognition, joining 15 such centres nationwide. The move will boost diagnosis, treatment, and research in rare diseases across the region.
