Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandra Bhushan Kumar, urged officials to make greater use of Hindi in official work. He emphasised that the islands fall under 'Region A' under the Official Language Rules, 1976, which makes it necessary for central government offices to use Hindi as much as possible. He encouraged them to use software for better facilitation.
