Kunja Rajitha, a 22-year-old athlete from Andhra Pradesh, won gold in the women’s 4×400m relay at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea. Alongside Jisna Mathew, Rupal Chaudhary, and Subha Venkatesan, the team clocked 3:34.18s- India’s first gold in the event since 2013. Raised in hardship, Rajitha comes from a family that sells firewood to make a living.
